In this 1-hour virtual presentation David Boag of New York City’s BOAG LAW will answer some of the most common intellectual property questions from entrepreneurs in a global economy, including:

  • The rights available to innovators and the difference between patents, trademarks, and copyrights.
  • The types of patents available in the U.S. and internationally. Subject matter eligibility and the criteria for developing patent rights, including novelty and nonobviousness.
  • Selecting strong trademarks and performing clearance searches.
  • Patent and trademark due diligence strategies to minimize infringement risks.
  • Patent and trademark licensing strategies.


About the Presenter:

David is an intellectual property attorney who helps clients with a wide-range of patent, trademark, and copyright legal issues in the U.S. and abroad. He works with startups, established companies, non-profits, and individuals, providing intellectual property advice on diverse and cutting-edge subject matter including software and mobile apps, consumer electronics, fashion, wellness, and many other fields.

David has extensive large-firm litigation experience and was previously senior counsel at a prominent New York intellectual property firm where he handled a wide range of intellectual property matters for a client base ranging from Fortune 100 multinational corporations to sole proprietors and inventors. David has an undergraduate degree in computer science and worked as a software developer before law school.
