According to the market research by METI (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry), in 2019, the size of the B2C e-commerce market in Japan increased by 7.65% year-on-year to 19.4 trillion Japanese yen (approx.167 billion EUR). The e-commerce market for goods is making up 6.76% of total sales in B2C market. The e-commerce market via smartphones also expanded, reaching 4.3 trillion Japanese yen (approx.34 billion EUR)., increased by 12.7% YoY.
Enterprise Estonia is inviting Rasmus Kütt, an e-commerce & omni-channel retail professional. Rasmus has been in the e-commerce and retail market for more than 10 years and lived in Japan for 5 years. Rasmus has worked in Rakuten, and Kraft Heinz Japan as an Ecommerce Manager, selling on Amazon Japan.
The event aims to introduce an opportunity to Estonian companies who are interested in selling their products in Japanese e-commerce shops. Rasmus will share his story and experience in e-commerce market in Japan and tell us challenges and opportunities.
