Start-up and development grant

The start-up and development grant programme is co-financed by Estonian Goverment. The budget of the programme in 2011 is 4.7 million euros. The applications are received on an on-going basis.
Objectives of the start-up and development grant:
- to increase the number of starting companies;
- to improve the sustainability of companies;
- to promote the growth ability of the companies.
Start-up grant is meant for the entrepreneurs who are ready to provide the product or service needed at the market but who is not focused on the fast growth.
Development grant is meant for the entrepreneurs:
- who are ready to provide the product or service needed at the market but who is focused on the fast growth or
- who has already proven its competitiveness and require support for growth acceleration.
Who can apply for the grant?
The applicant can be a self-employed person or the company,
* whose owners include no more legal persons than 25%;
* in case of start-up grant: who is registered in the Commercial Registry no more than 12 months ago or is to be founded; in case of development grant: who is registered in the Commercial Registry no more than 36 months ago or is to be founded and whose net sales income after 2 financial years is 120 000 euro, net sales growth per year is 30% and export is 20% of net sales.
How big is the grant?
Up to 7000 euro can be applied as the start-up grant. The share of grant of the project cost is maximum 80%.
Up to 32 000 euro can be applied as the development grant. The share of grant of the project cost is maximum 65%.
