- Innovation voucher grant is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.
- The budget of the programme in the EU budget period 2007-2013 is 2,9 million euros.
- The applications are accepted on an on-going basis.
Objective of innovation voucher grant
Increasing competitiveness of Estonian SMEs through transfer of knowledge and technology, expansion of cooperation with R&D institutions and increase of capability of protection of intellectual property.
Expected results
- increase of awareness and skills of SMEs to use knowledge and technologies in developing business activities;
- increase of the number of SMEs cooperating with universities, research institutions and innovation service providers;
- increase of applicability of knowledge created in universities and value for SMEs;
- expanding of service packages of knowledge and technology transfer centers of universities;
- improvement of awareness and capability of standardising and certifying, and protection of intellectual property of SMEs
Who can apply for the grant?
SME registered in Estonian Commercial Register. The applicant cannot have been in contractual relationship with the service provider specified in the application during the year preceding the application.
What is the grant provided for?
- consulting regarding product or service development;
- consulting regarding work organisation, production or technology;
- development and introduction of design solutions;
- performance of feasibility study;
- consulting regarding metrology, standardisation and certification;
- erformance of compatibility and product application tests;
- legal protection consultation regarding patents, utility models or industrial design;
- performance of survey and information search regarding patents, utility models or industrial design;
- registration of a patent, utility model or industrial design.
What are the supported expenses?
Costs related to procurement of services.
Who are the providers of innovation services?
Providers of innovation service can be only:
- Estonian national standards body;
- Estonian central office of metrology and accredited calibration laboratories;
- Patent Office;
- Estonian Patent Library;
- patent agents;
- R&D institutions founded as a state or local government institutions, legal person governed by public law or institution of legal person governed by public law.
How big is the grant?
- Single application: up to 4,000 euros per applicant.
- Joint application: up to 4,000 euros per joint applicant, but not more than up to 16,000 euros per application.
Up to 100% of expenses eligible for aid. The duration of the project is up to 12 months, possible to apply for extension of the project on condition that the period of eligibility for aid of the project shall not exceed 18 months.
