The regional competitiveness improvement programme for small projects is financed from the Estonian state budget. The applications are received on an on-going basis.
Objective of the regional competitiveness improvement grant for small projects
The objective of the grant is to make the different regions of Estonia more attractive for the entrepreneurs, investors, qualified labour and visitors, by eliminating the factors hindering the use of development potential and developing the competitive advantages characteristic of the region.
Who can apply for the grant?
The grant can be applied by the local governments, foundations and non-profit associations, provided the activities planned in the project belong among the activities specified in the articles of association of these organisations, the county museums in the meaning of subsections 2 and 5 of § 8 of the Museums Act, National Nature Protection Centre.
For what the grant is provided?
- Development of small objects with the purpose of visiting and vacation (beaches, camping and study tracks, camping sites, nature and cultural monuments, historical design elements, viewing platforms);
- Development of supporting infrastructure of vacation and tourism objects (access roads, parking places, sanitary and waste management conditions, information boards and signposts);
- Starting and redevelopment of region-specific or regular events unique in Estonia, also the starting of the events creating traditions;
- Public activities for the activation of the local business environment (creating and furnishing of workrooms, transfer of the traditional local know-how).
How big is the grant?
The minimum amount of the grant is 100 000 per project (50 000 in case of some activities), the maximum is 1 000 000 kroons. The grant can cover up to 85% of the eligible costs of the project.
