Regional competitiveness improvement programme

The regional competitiveness improvement programme is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund. The budget of the programme in the period of 2007-2013 is 93 785 595 euros. The applications are received on an on-going basis.
Objective of the regional competitiveness improvement grant
The objective of the grant is to make the different regions of Estonia more attractive for the entrepreneurs, investors, qualified labour and visitors, by eliminating the factors hindering the use of development potential and developing the competitive advantages characteristic of the region.
Who can apply for the grant?
The grant can be applied by the local governments, foundations and non-profit associations, provided the activities planned in the project belong among the activities specified in the articles of association of these organisations, the state authorities as the managers of the visiting objects, public law universities.
For what the grant is provided?
The following is supported:
1. The projects developing local tourism and vacation sector which are foremost directed to the visitors (e.g. development of visiting centres and thematic parks, establishing of light traffic roads, cleaning of beaches etc.);
2. The projects developing the infrastructure of entrepreneurial environment (access roads, lighting, electricity lines, heating systems etc);
- Previously supported activities: marketing of objects, starting of regular events etc.
How big is the grant?
The minimum amount of the grant is 62 912 per project, the maximum is 3 195 583 Euros. The grant can cover up to 85% of the eligible costs of the project.

NB! Calls for proposals of development of the tourism environment and development of the entrepreneurial environment are closed.
