Development of cultural and tourism objects of national importance (SF 2007-2013)

The development of cultural and tourism objects of national importance is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund. The budget of the programme in the EU budget period of 2007-2013 is 62,1 million euros.

Measure "Development of Cultural and Tourist Objects of National Importance" and Procedure for Preparation of Investment Assistance Plan. Regulation No. 4 of the Minister for Regional Affairs of 28 May 2008 (RTL 2008, 46, 641), entered into force 9.06.2008

The general objective of the measure is to increase the international competitiveness of Estonia as the tourism destination and regions, by making the regions more attractive for the visitors, investors and qualified labour.

The specific objectives of the measure are:

  1. Increasing the attractiveness of Estonia as the tourism destination by developing the cultural and tourism objects of interest for the visitors, including the visitors arriving from other countries;
  2. Extension of the time of the visitors arrived from the other countries while staying in Estonia, staying in Estonia;
  3. Promoting Estonia as the destination country of cultural tourism and introduction of the Estonian cultural and historical heritage;
  4. More attractive and competitive local host environment.

On 28 May 2008 the Minister for Regional Affairs signed the regulation "The terms and conditions of the measure "Development of cultural and tourism objects of national importance" and the procedure of preparing the plan of investment grants". The regulation entered into force on 9 June.

The preliminary applications for appointing the projects to the plan of investments could have been submitted to the Ministry of the Interior up to 11 August 2008.

The grant can be applied on the basis of the investment support plan approved by the Government of the Republic.
