Grant for the small ports

The supporting of small ports is financed from the Estonian state budget.
The applications are accepted on an on-going basis.

Objective of supporting the small ports

The objective is the diversification of the visiting opportunities, increasing the load tolerance of small ports and improvement of qualitative level, establishing of the arranged network of public ports and activation of the local economic and business environment.

Who can apply for the grant?

The grant can be applied by the local government units, foundations and non-profit associations, provided the activities planned in the project belong among the activities specified in the articles of association of these organisations and the companies registered in Estonia.

For what the grant is provided?

The following activities are supported:

  • The designing works and other specific preliminary surveys important from the viewpoint of the development of the port;
  • Geological and geotechnical surveys;
  • Hydrographical measurement works of the port basin and port entrance;
  • Construction of the hydro technical facilities of the ports and marking of the navigation routes;
  • Construction of quays and landing bridges;
  • Construction and reconstruction of the port facilities needed for servicing the visiting boats;
  • Dredging operations of the basin and port entrance;
  • Development of the port territory;
  • Guarantee of the maritime safety, environmental protection and security requirements in the port;
  • Development of the additional services contributing to the sustainable development of the port.

How big is the grant?

The minimum grant amount per project is 100 000, the maximum 3 million kroons. The grant rate is up to 50% of the eligible costs.
