Basic training for non-profit associations is co-financed by the European Social Fund.


What does the Enterprise Estonia programme offer?

The mentorship programme is aimed at development activities that cover mapping of the mentoree's development needs and support and feedback from the mentor regarding developing possible alternatives for operating and implementing changes. The main emphasis of the programme is on cooperation between the mentorship pairs supported by training and analysis seminars organized by Enterprise Estonia.

To increase the institutional capacity and professionalism of non-profit associations (non-profit associations, foundations), we organize three-day basic training courses for non-profit associations, the goal of which is to increase the awareness of directors of non-profit associations regarding the legal and social framework of non-profit activity and the application of this knowledge in their own association.

Who is the intended beneficiary of the training?
The basic training for non-profit associations is intended above all for directors and founders of starting non-profit associations as well as to new non-profit association management board members.

What topics are dealt with in the training?
The training participants acquire basic knowledge in the following fields:

  • the NGO and other organizational forms
  • founding a vital non-profit association
  • legal relations in the non-profit association
  • role of the non-profit association in society
  • fundamental principles of development plan
  • cooperation between non-profit associations with the public and private sector, involvement
  • directing and developing a non-profit association
  • role of the non-profit association director in the financial accounting
  • principles of financial accounting, budgeting
  • financing non-profit associations and involvement of funds.

Who administers the training?
From November 2010 to December 2011, the training will be organized by Juhatuse Kompetentsikeskus OÜ.
Trainers are highly rated practitioners Kaidi Holm and Siiri Einaste.

How to participate in the training?
Training is organized in all counties and the duration of one training is three days. One day lasts 8 academic hours.
The training is free of charge to participants but requires pre-registration in a county development centre.
